How did you and your husband meet?
Online
How did he propose?
During the initial COVID-19 lockdown at home. He gave me my birthday presents in the morning and then surprised me with a proposal and (surprise) engagement ring.
What was your vision for you wedding day?
A fun, relaxing day for everyone to enjoy. Traditional with some surprise elements that reflects us.
What drew you to your gown from Helen Rodrigues Bridal?
I have always loved to look in the store window and admire the gowns, and when we became engaged I knew I couldn’t choose my dress without visiting the store. I had looked at the dress online, and there were so many beautiful dresses there, but when I tried on my dress it just felt right. Classic, elegant and timeless.
What was the wedding planning journey like for you? How far out did you start planning?
So much of the planning was driven by the restrictions and uncertainty surrounding the pandemic. We felt very lucky to be able to get married with our friends and family there - and didn’t take this for granted during the entire process. Planning a wedding during the pandemic made us focus on the important things.
What was the biggest decision you had to make?
How many people to invite - the changing restrictions meant that we had to uninvite guests and couldn’t have everyone there that we would have wish to.
What was the highlight of your wedding day for you?
The wedding ceremony itself, and our first dance.
Is there any advice you would give other #HRBride’s?
Choose the dress that you makes you feel great - I think there is a difference between a beautiful dress, and a dress that you feel beautiful wearing.
