How did you and your husband meet?
We met through one of our closest friends at a party in Singapore. I’ve known her since kindergarten and grew up with her in Sydney, and she and Freddi met while they were at university in London. She was one of our bridesmaids and gave a speech at our wedding. A true full-circle friendship moment.
How did he propose?
Mallorca has always held a very special place in our hearts, so it felt incredibly fitting that it was where we got engaged and, later, where we would get married.
We were in Mallorca and Freddi suggested we go for a sunrise swim at our favourite cala. The slight hiccup was that I had already booked a tennis court for 8am, so it took a little convincing to squeeze in a swim before that!
We had the whole place to ourselves and, as the sun came up, it filled the entire bay with the most magical golden light. Freddi proposed after we got out of the water while we were sitting together watching the sunrise.
What was your vision for your wedding day?
We wanted our wedding to feel like a celebration of everything we love most — bringing together our favourite people from all corners of the world in a place that means so much to us.
Son Marroig is such an extraordinary venue, perched above the sea with the most incredible views of the Mallorcan coastline, so our vision was to enhance the natural beauty of the setting rather than transform it. We wanted something romantic and elegant, but still relaxed and full of warmth.
We chose a soft, timeless palette with neutral styling and pastel florals that added colour, texture and charm while allowing the surroundings to shine. The dream was a long dinner under the stars, followed by a legendary party — a magical summer night in Mallorca that everyone would remember.
Where did you look for your wedding inspiration?
I found inspiration everywhere, from Instagram and Pinterest to fashion, art, and travel, but our biggest source of inspiration was Mallorca itself.
We wanted the day to feel authentic to the island we love: romantic, effortless and full of Mediterranean charm. The landscape, architecture, food and colours of Mallorca really guided our choices — from the styling and catering to the overall atmosphere we wanted to create.
What drew you to your gown from Helen Rodrigues Bridal?
I always knew I wanted a lace wedding gown. There is something so timeless and romantic about lace.
I tried on a few different lace styles, but my Monique Lhuillier gown immediately felt like the perfect balance of everything I was looking for — elegant, classic, romantic, and dramatic.
Most importantly, I could instantly picture myself wearing it walking down the aisle.
What was your wedding planning journey like for you? How far out did you start planning?
We got engaged in August 2024 and started planning almost straight away. We always knew we were going to have a destination wedding, which meant there were a lot of moving parts, but the process was such a special and exciting chapter.
We had a clear vision from early on and our biggest priority was to do as much as possible ahead of time so that once the wedding weekend arrived, we could switch off and truly be present with our family and friends.
What was the biggest decision you had to make?
The date. We originally planned to get married in early September 2025, but when we visited Son Marroig exactly a year beforehand, it was pouring with rain. We decided we didn’t want to take the risk and moved the wedding forward to early July.
What was the highlight of your wedding day for you?
Walking down the aisle was a moment I will never forget.
Seeing Freddi at the end of the aisle, surrounded by all our family and friends who had travelled from around the world to be there with us, was incredibly emotional. There was so much love and happiness in one place — it is a feeling we will remember forever.
Is there anything you would do differently?
Nothing at all. It truly was our dream day.
Is there any advice you would give other #HRBride’s?
Start dress shopping early so you can really enjoy the process and give yourself the time and headspace to find something that feels completely right.
Also, trust your instincts. There are so many decisions involved in planning a wedding, but sometimes you just know. It’s okay to be decisive — I chose the second dress I tried on!
“Helen and her team are simply the best. From the moment you walk through the doors, you know you are in the hands of the A-team.
They are the kindest, funniest and most knowledgeable fairy godmothers a bride could wish for. They helped me find my dream Monique Lhuillier gown and veil, and took care of every little detail — from tailoring and customisations to expediting my order so I could do my fittings while I was back home in Sydney.
They made the entire journey feel effortless, personal and incredibly special. I couldn’t imagine a better experience. Don’t go anywhere else!”
