How They Met
We met while we were both working on a cruise ship sailing out of New York called Celebrity Summit. Keegan was the personal trainer onboard and I was in a singer/ dancer role in the production cast. We did two cruise ship contracts together, traveling the world from Bermuda to Alaska, the Caribbean to Canada. Keegan is from South Africa so the first year and a half of our relationship was long distance. Keegan moved to Australia in 2018 and after visa rejections, expensive immigration lawyers and a successful partner visa, Keegan is now an Australian citizen.
The Proposal
We were in England and Keegan planned a day trip to Richmond Gardens, which he had seen on Instagram and been impressed by the incredible, colourful landscape. The idea was to find a pretty spot where colourful flowers were blooming but unfortunately we arrived on a pretty gloomy day to find hardly any flowers at all! It didn’t matter in the end because Keegan had organised a lovely lunch at Petersham Nurseries restaurant with gorgeous roses and champagne on the table waiting for us.
Wedding Day Vision
We chose to host our wedding at the stunning Redleaf in Wollombi. A location that breathes European charm and natural tranquility. We wanted the styling to capture the natural surroundings of the venue, creating an atmosphere of modern sophistication with a playful garden soirée. We also wanted a whole weekend event! We loved the idea of our wedding not being over in just one night, but having 3 glorious days to spend with our nearest and dearest.
Fun was the theme in everything we chose! From the outset, we knew we didn’t want our special day to be overly formal. We wanted it to feel authentic to us and most importantly be a huge celebration with our most beloved people.
Whites and ivories formed the base of our colour palette, with stunning pops of light blues, blushes and baby yellows blending seamlessly into the surrounding styling. These colours were brought to life through our florals, delicate stationary and styling additions.

Helen was the only one to have pink!
The hunt for my dress was definitely a journey. I have always been a pink girl (the first car i ever owned was a pink VW beetle!) however, I never imagined I'd wear a pink gown. It was my mum who encouraged me to try on a pink dress for a bit of fun (she actually wore a pink
dress on her wedding day!) and this changed everything. Pink is who I am after all! My absolute dream dress - a bespoke Monique Lhuillier gown. Off the shoulder, billowing sleeves, delicately detailed bodice with a train to die for. I felt like a real-life princess.

Marrying the love of my life! As well as having all of the people I love in one room because it’s the only time that will happen for the rest of our lives.
What would she change?
I would probably start the day half an hour earlier so we had more time on the dance floor at the end of the evening!
